DOWNING CHOIR

Mr. Price resides in Denton with his best friend and wife, Kyleigh, their daughter, Connor, and their two dachshunds, Sadie and Mollie. They love to travel and cook together!  When not at school Mr. Price spends his time singing whenever he can, playing video games, golfing, and cooking on his blackstone grill.

Mr. Price’s choral ensembles have consistently earned Sweepstakes awards at UIL Concert & Sight-Reading Contest, as well as numerous superior ratings, and Best in Class awards. The Downing Choirs are consistently held to, and achieve the highest standards of choral excellence. Student membership in All-Region & All-District Choirs has been consistently maintained, as well as the formation of a new Tenor/Bass A Capella in addition to the Downing Diamonds. The Downing A Capella groups perform in several concerts and contests throughout the year, as well as invitational community events.

Shane Price is the Director of Choirs at Downing Middle School and is in his 6th year of teaching. Mr. Price holds his Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of North Texas College of Music. While at UNT he was a member of the UNT A Capella Choir, University Singers, and the Collegium Singers. Mr. Price was born and raised in Canyon, Texas where he found his passion for choral music and teaching after being selected as a member of the Texas Music Educator's Association All-State Men's Choir in 2014. Mr. Price is so excited for the 2023-2024 school year!
